September is Blood Cancer Awareness Month and we are doing our part to support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) mission to cure cancer. Throughout September, PizzaRev’s 20 corporate restaurants throughout greater Los Angeles are collecting donations to support the cause. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (California Southern Chapter) is also inviting Light The Night Walk participants to host their team fundraisers at PizzaRev. We will donate 20 percent of proceeds from all Light The Night fundraisers to the local LLS chapter.
“Everyone knows someone touched by cancer. We are proud supporters of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the revolutionary research they fund to help find a cure for blood cancer,” said Nicholas Eckerman, co-CEO and co-founder of PizzaRev.
LLS is the world’s largest voluntary health agency dedicated to finding cures for leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and other blood cancers. Through its efforts, LLS has invested more than $1 billion in cutting-edge research to advance therapies. Thanks to research, survival rates for patients with many blood cancers have doubled, tripled, and even quadrupled since the early 1960s. Yet, despite these advances, about one third of patients with blood cancer still do not survive even five years after their diagnosis.
“PizzaRev is making a life-saving impact in the Greater Los Angeles community through their support of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and our mission to end cancer,” said Alana Seger, Executive Director, LLS California Southland Chapter. “LLS could not be more proud to be their leading charity partner throughout 2016 and into the future so together we can continue to fund cutting-edge research and help those in need with insurance co-pay assistance as well as travel assistance grants right here in Southern California.”
